The work is composed of two gas-filled glass tubes elongated and stretched towards a precise, symmetrical pattern. The hand-formed structures seem to both be of synthetic and natural origin, due to their web-like, netted appearances that expand from themselves. Although the pieces rest, there’s something about them that suggests they might leave, at any moment. Perhaps because of their suspension. They are alive but restrained. Idle so to say. Though still, the work carries an intimate yet technological experience, situating itself both as a sculptural medium and reference to the visual realm of screen-based hues. Pink lights that feel almost artificial despite being entirely natural occurring—electrons shifting, photons released.
